As you probably already know Emma and I have spent weeks preparing for a cross country tour in our van, Van Burgundy, aptly named for its deep burgundy paint color and rich mahogany interior. In the past month we have quit our jobs, sold and shuffled our belongings, and modified our van into a cozy living space.
Family, friends and co-workers have all asked us to stay in touch and keep them updated on our Van-Venture. We have felt so much support and encouragement for our decision to embark on this journey that we want everyone to be able to be a part of it through this blog.
We are very excited to share this experience with you and will be posting regularly on here, so please visit often.

GENERAL ROUTE:
PREPERATION:
I sold a ton of my stuff off in order to get it to the point where I could ship everything home in these two crates. I sold and delivered my pool table, 1980 rabbit convertible, a mt bike, a tandem bike, tables, tools, and even our beloved rats (they went to a great home, we are very happy about it). I also sold my commuter car, which was also my first car back in high school when my brother sold it to me. I was able to sell it to my little cuz Mahala who is so very excited to add to the sticker collection.
VAN PURCHASE:
Here are some photos of us right after we bought the van back in November 2016. Yeah, we've been dreaming for a while.
EMPTY HOUSE:
Pictures of the cleaned out Stillwater house. We will miss this place dearly.
BED FRAME CONSTRUCTION:
Here is the start of Van Burgundy's bed frame we constructed. This was just a mock up, it has been completed since. It even has a reclining feature I added! More photos of the completed bed to come.
